Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how AI Expert Labs ("we", "us") handles data when you use the Camera Detector Ultra iOS application (the "App") and the website cameradetect.app (the "Site"). The short version: your scans happen on your device and stay there. We do not see your camera feed, your scan results, your WiFi network contents, or your location.

1. What the App processes on your device (and never uploads)

To do its job, the App uses several iPhone capabilities. All of this processing happens locally:

  • Camera: used for the infrared/lens-detection view. Frames are analyzed in real time on the device; they are not recorded, stored, or transmitted by us.
  • Local network access & WiFi information: used to list devices on the network you are connected to. The device list is displayed to you and is not sent to our servers.
  • Magnetometer: sensor readings are shown to you in the sweep view and are not stored or transmitted.

Because scanning is on-device, the App's core features work without an account — the App does not ask you to register, and we do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, or precise location.

2. Data we do collect

  • Purchase data. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We receive anonymized transaction information (product purchased, transaction status and receipt validation data) needed to unlock premium features. We never receive your payment card details.
  • Usage and diagnostics data. We use analytics and crash-reporting services to understand which features are used and to fix crashes: events such as screens opened and scan types started, together with device-level technical data (device model, OS version, language, time zone, app version, and randomly generated identifiers). This data does not include the content or results of your scans.
  • Support correspondence. If you email support@cameradetect.app, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and we use it solely to help you.
  • Site analytics. The Site may use privacy-respecting web analytics (page views, referrer, approximate region derived from IP, browser type) to measure content performance.

3. Service providers

We share the limited data above only with the providers that make the App work:

  • Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases and subscription management.
  • Google Firebase (Google LLC) — analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring.
  • RevenueCat or similar receipt-validation services — subscription status verification (where used).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. Purposes and legal bases

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process data on these bases:

  • Performance of a contract — delivering the App and premium features you purchase.
  • Legitimate interests — measuring usage, fixing crashes, preventing fraud, answering support requests.
  • Consent — where required for analytics identifiers (e.g., App Tracking Transparency on iOS); the App works fully if you decline.

5. Retention

Analytics and diagnostics data is retained for up to 14 months and then deleted or aggregated. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Purchase records are kept as required for accounting and tax law.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA under GDPR and California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Because the App collects so little, the fastest path is simply emailing support@cameradetect.app — we respond to all verified requests within 30 days. You can also reset or limit analytics identifiers in iOS Settings, and manage subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

7. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children. We restrict use of the App to individuals aged 16 and above and do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

9. Security

We follow industry practices to protect the limited data we handle — encryption in transit, access controls, and minimization (the most sensitive data, your scans, never leaves your device at all).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this page, and the "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
